High School Outreach Programs
Are you interested in a career in medicine? Medical school admission committees take into consideration your extracurricular involvement from the age of 16. You can get ahead by exploring Grade 9 to 12 health and science outreach programs offered by the Ontario universities below!
Note that these are NOT undergraduate medical programs. The purpose of these programs is to allow you to explore healthcare professions and careers, connect with mentors and peers, and participate in hands-on activities to develop your professional skills.
Depending on the program you choose, you can connect and speak with current physicians and healthcare professionals, explore university campuses and programs, and even take part in science labs or activities!
Please read the details of each program carefully, including program admission requirements.
Through the Summer Mentorship Program, I was able to make clear goals for how I wanted my future to look like. Through discussions with university and medical students, I gained insight on the pathways and resources available to obtain my goals. In my own career journey, I hope to become a a mentor and help to other students who have dreams like mine as well.
