Our name Gdoo-maawnjidimi Mompii means “We Gather Here”, representing how the team brings together support services, programs and the Indigenous Student Centre under one roof in service of Indigenous students.
The university strives to foster positive relationships with the Indigenous community through the work of the Indigenous Education Council (IEC), Indigenous Student Services, and Indigenous Initiatives within the Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion (OVPECI).

Stoodis Science
Stoodis Science is one of SciXchange's public outreach, engagement, and science communication initiatives. Stoodis is slang commonly used in Indigenous communities and is derived from "Let's do this!" Stoodis Science focuses on providing spaces for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous folks to learn about Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, and being and how they relate to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and arts (STEAM) concepts!
